Jean-Michel Jarre to perform at CPH PIX

Published

French electronic music icon Jean-Michel Jarre will open this year's live programme at CPH PIX, on October 26th 2016 in Copenhagen.

Jarre has throughout his career taken electronic music to new heights with his melodic take on the genre and not least with his extravagant live performances.

In October at CPH PIX he will present music from his impressive catalogue, as well as from his new album series 'Electronica' which features collaborations with such diverse artists as John Carpenter, M83, Fuck Buttons, Pet Shop Boys, Primal Scream, Peaches, Hans Zimmer and the late Edgar Froese, who performed with Tangerine Dream at CPH PIX in 2014.

Jean-Michel Jarre (b. 1948) is the son of the acclaimed film composer Maurice Jarre, and was classically schooled from an early age. He grew up under the influence of the 60's rock'n'roll, and in 1969 his musical path took a defining turn when he began his studies with electronic music pioneer, Pierre Schaeffer.
