This year's jury


Each year 10 films from all over the world compete in New Talent Grand PIX for the title and 10.000 euro. Here is our international jury who will judge the competition.

10 debuting directors compete for the jury's attention and 10.000 euro in our main competition New Talent Grand PIX. Our international jury this year are Swedish producer Erika Wasserman, french director Philippe Grandrieux and the Danish-Chilean cinematographer Manuel Alberto Claro.

Philippe Grandrieux

Born in Saint-Étienne, 1954.

Philippe Grandrieux studied film at Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle in Belgium. The French filmmaker is best known for his first three features: 'Sombre' (1998), 'La vie Nouvelle' (2002) and 'Un Lac' (2008). 'Sombre' won the Special Jury Prize at Locarno Film Festival in 1998, while 'Un Lac' received the Orizzonti Prize at Venice Film Festival in 2009 - a prize awarded visionary films that initiate new trends in cinema. Philippe Grandrieux' most recent film 'Despite the Night' is screened at the festival this year in the section 'Untamed'.

Manuel Alberto Claro

Born in Santiago, 1970.

Manuel Alberto Claro is Chilaen born, but came to Denmark as a 4-year-old in 1974. Here he graduated from The Danish Film School in 2001 and has since then worked as cinematographer on various features, among them Lars von Trier's Melancholia (2011) and Nymphomaniac: Vol. I & II (2013). His latest work includes Amat Escalante's 'The Untamed', which won the prize for Best Direction at Venice Film Festival earlier this year. 'The Untamed' has also been selected to screen at CPH PIX.
