The Elite

Dir.: Thomas Daneskov | Denmark 2015 | 80 min

Thomas Daneskov cleared the table to Ekko's Shortlist Awards for his wildlife minature 'Ud, spring over, ind'. Now, the creative dynamo is ready to debut in the long format with a freshness, an honesty and a different dramaturgical flow than we are accustomed to at home. 'The Elite' portrays a group of young originals and uprising artists who are struggling to find their own voice and to explore their limits, both personally and creatively. A young writer inherit a mansion complete with lake and park and uses the opportunity to create an artist collective that can inspire him to write the difficult sequel to his bestselling debut. Together, they party and they experiment. It is crazy, and it is fun for most of them, but the creative rejoicing cracks. As expected, but with unforeseen consequences. There are new faces both in front of and behind the camera, and 'The Elite' is created in a collective, creative process between the director, writers, actors and the technical team. With such a refreshing start, one cannot but expect much of Daneskov.
